If it was a flesh color it would look like she did in the cartoon. In X-men 2 Yuriko Oyama (Lady Deathstrike) had retractable nails but in the cartoon she got adamantium enhancements to get revenge on wolverine for killing her father. (Who disappeared) He was the sciencist who found out how to process the adamantium. Then Walker fused the adamantium to Wolverine. Wolverine lovelife; Lady Deathstrike (X-men 2), Silver Fox (X-men Origins: Wolverine), Storm (AOG), Itsu (Decease Wife Mother of Draken)

Hi, maybe u need to use the right type of glue, If you are using a harder kind of paper, I suggest you use UHU glue, for fast drying. If not, PVA glues works well.

Thank you for these shots and the description. I'm working on my deathstrike costume (original comic book design) and these are very helpful. I'm going to work on making mine fleshy though as most of her original art indicates finger like claws over nail like or metal like claws. again, thank you for the idea!

Glad to be able to help :)

hi tky! I've completed my deathstrike costume and pictures are up. [link] thanks again for popping the idea in my head for the hand construction. I might be doing a tutorial later (and I'll includ a link to this page in it) with pictures on how i approached this version. Thanks again!

Hi! Wow, it looks awesome! you really manage to make it look solid and presentable!
kiwi5frog Featured By Owner Nov 13, 2010
thank you ^_^. i ended up melting over 100 mini-glue sticks and filled up the fingers to give them more structure. there's a lot of bumping going on in conventions. had to make sure they'd make it out of there. ^_^

I just tried to make some and I can't seem to understand your tutorial very well... it looks simple, but I found it hard to even get the folds right... it's baffling me. These look really cool (remind me of spiders' legs), but I can't seem to go anywhere when I try to make some.

I do love the subtle jaggedness in the bent sections. :)
tkyzgallery Featured By Owner Jan 29, 2010  Professional Artisan Crafter
yes, the picture i provided for the tutorial is too simply as i did it long time ago.. here are some explanations that might help u..

pic 1 shows the example of the template of how u should fold it. there is a extra strip so that u can use it to joint them together as a flat piece, and the inside should have no glue. after sticking it flat, u need to make it into a cylinder shape with one side being sharp.

pic 3, you can do this while its flat and insert the second piece into the first piece and glue them together but u have to push it back into its cylinder/rounded shape back again in order for it to be rounded through out even at its joints.

* you r suppose to tilt it down and insert each piece so u'll have space to insert and glue the separate pieces together.

using a strong but still yet manageable thickness for the paper is key. So experiment to see which thickness of paper would be best.

any more inquiries do email me at, would glad to help :)

Very nice indeed. I started haunting a corn maze last year, so I've been brainstorming on how to get the latest idea to work for this year. I may very well have to incorporate this into my costume with slightly stronger material and attach them to gloves (as October nights can get pretty chilly). I would just make them out of paper as you did, but people's fear response sometimes makes them unintentionally hit the haunters in the maze (I got punched twice last year, hehe). Thank you so much for the tutorial. You've made my project leaps and bounds easier!

hey :) glad to be able to help! Hope ur claws will turn out well!

here's another claws with gloves that i did, maybe u could get some more ideas :) [link]

Thanks for the well wishes! When I get a little spare cash, I'm hoping to go ahead and start on them. I'll try to remember to post a picture of how the whole thing turns out when I'm done. I'll make sure to provide a link for the claws, of course ^_^.
